Hong Kong Wetland Park
Yesterday we went to the Hong Kong Wetland Park, which was incredible fun. I had heard about it from a magazine that I read so I was really keen to go and check it out. It actually took a really long time to get there. We changed a few trains and then got there though a light rail train. Upon passing through the area, we realised that it was actually very suburbanised. There were apartments and living blocks everywhere, some schools and even local parks. The area had a really nice feel to it, much less urban than the areas we have normally been to in Hong Kong.
When we got there, we paid for entry and all that. Its so great that in Hong Kong students get a discount for entries to tourist places like these. We then went though a really cool maze, that was actually meant for little children, but we went through it anyway ahah :P We then walked to the lookout scene and didn't realise how far we had actually travelled to for the wetlands because we were literally so close to the border of Hong Kong and China. We could even see the major city of Shenzhen from where we were standing which was really cool.
We continued walking for the rest of the day and saw lots of wildlife like birds; there were lookouts everywhere to see all the different species of birds. We also went to the butterfly sanctuary. The Hong Kong Wetlands were amazing. It was just so nice to spend the day walking around and looking at all the nature and wildlife.
