This morning we started off with a presentation by Cistri, here in Singapore. It was really interesting to learn about the history of development and planning in Singapore, but more importantly the future plans as well. Especially in terms of the plans for the reclaimed land and train system. A big takeaway from this presentation was the fact that infrastructure in Singapore leads the development. This is because the infrastructure is laid and planned quite a few years in advance before the development itself takes place. I found this forward thinking way quite inspiration and something that Perth could learn from for sure!
A few of us then went and had some food in a nearby shopping centre and got a few things which was nice. We then met up with the rest of the group again and had another presentation with Aedas. The master plans and the concept plans that we were shown were so impressive and quite grand too. Such a difference in the design approach that is taken in Perth.
I also went back to Toa Payoh Sensory Park this afternoon to do another observational study which was nice. I think the gloomy weather might have kept a few people away, but it was interesting to note how many people were using the park for relaxation purposes or simply just to walk by the garden and the greenery in that sensory park.
Looking forward to a bar crawl this evening!
